He took the time to show us all the best places to visit and made sure we had the entire place to ourselves. The cleanliness and quietness of the property were impeccable, and our comfortable bed and cozy sitting area made us feel right at home. Simple and comfortable with a helpful owner, ideal for visiting Rincon de la Vieja if you have a car. Mosquito net provided and a lovely host family experience. About a 20-minute drive from the bus station with beautiful river views, adorable chicks, and plenty of wildlife nearby. Convenient van service available for exploring the area.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The owner, Edward, was very helpful and the highlight of my experience. He made delicious burgers and fries, and even raised adorable chicks on the property. The swing he built provided a beautiful view of the river, and I was able to spot various wildlife like Jesus lizards, monkeys, birds. The main lobby area had plenty of space to relax in hammocks or play card games. Additionally, the hostel owner can help arrange transportation to places like Rincon de la Vieja, making it convenient and affordable.

Didn't dislike anything about the property. 😊

The views were amazing, with very nice wildlife including crocodiles and monkeys. The staff, particularly Lily, were knowledgeable and even offered singing bowl meditations. The local dancing show was a highlight. The pillows were the best we've experienced in Costa Rica. We will definitely be returning!

The hotel was conveniently located near Rincon de la Vieja, making it easy for us to explore the area. the owners were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed during our stay. the in-house restaurant was a nice bonus, serving delicious meals that we enjoyed. Plus, having a mosquito net on the bed provided added comfort and protection.

The hotel could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness and organization. being situated near a highway meant that there was a significant amount of noise at times, which could be disruptive for light sleepers.

The warm and friendly staff made me feel right at home, leading me in rejuvenating meditation sessions and providing fascinating conversations. The horse tour was super fun, and I loved practicing my Spanish with the guide while learning about the land and wildlife. Balbo's felt like family, with days and evenings spent getting to know staff and fellow travelers. The river view was gorgeous, with plenty of bird and crocodile sightings. It's the perfect stop for nature lovers before heading to Nicaragua or Bahia Salinas. The owner was amazing, showing us cool places to visit and even making delicious burgers. The hostel was clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and a great TV area. The location was a short drive from the bus station, and the owner can set you up with a driver for convenience. an excellent budget hostel with amazing vibes and cute dogs.
